Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

September 2018 is over. It is time to announce the winner of the September 2018 Street Photography Contest!

The theme of the contest was “Layers” and we had asked you all to send in photos with examples of street photos made with the layers composition technique. You responded by sending in loads of photographs! Thank you all for submitting your awesome work!

As per the rules of the contest, Street Hunters Andrew Sweigart, Digby Fullam, John Hughes and myself, chose one photo each. The next step was to select the very best one of the four and present it here to you.

So, the lucky winner of the September 2018 Street Photography Contest is Bojan Nikolic and this is his photograph.

A few words about the Monthly Theme Contests

It is time for the Monthly Theme Contest for October 2018! The Monthly Theme Contests are a fun challenge for all! Every month we choose a Theme and we ask you to participate by each sending us one Street Photograph each time at streethunters.net@gmail.com. That photos must be based on the Monthly Theme. So for example if the theme is Silhouettes, then we would like you to each send a photo with a Silhouette moment. Your photo can be taken any time in history, we don’t mind, as long as it has been taken by you and nobody else.

What Is This Month’s Theme?

This month we would like to ask you to participate with Street Photos of “Old & Young”. We would like you to send in street photos featuring a contradictions between old and young (people or animals). Dig up your best shots or go and hunt for some news ones! Please send in clever photos . We look forward to seeing what you will send in!

Please follow the example of the photo we are sharing with you here.

September 2018 monthly theme contest

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

The ninth Monthly Theme Contest photos for 2018 have been submitted and we have made our choices. Please keep in mind that the process of choosing a photo from the September 2018 Street Photography Contest Submissions was not easy!

But let’s take a look at all the photos that were submitted and accepted in this Monthly Theme Contest.

ATTENTION: The photos that didn’t meet the Theme or the Editors criteria were not chosen to be in the shortlist. They have been disqualified or removed. If your pic isn’t in the shortlist, don’t get discouraged. Try again next month!

At this moment I would like to thank each and every participant for submitting their photograph. We have a great collection of photos with “Layers” to show you! This time we had 20 valid submissions which can all be seen below.

Singles Contest PHOS

Introduction

Last November, in Athens, the Phos Athens Street Photography festival took place. Streethunters.net was one of the organisers along with the Bulb collective and iFocus magazine. It was a massive success! We had a smashing time, got to meet many friends and make new ones. We shared experiences, we took long photo walks and lived and breathed for street photography for 3 full days. It was a blast! You can read about it in more detail in our blog post Phos Athens Street Photography Festival – The next day.

During the Phos Athens Street Photography festival there are lectures, workshops and contests! This year around we have decided to give the contests a twist and organise each one separately. So we the Street Hunters we have been chosen to organise the Single Photo Contest!

Introduction

Tzen Xing is the winner of the September 2017 Monthly Theme Contest. She is a street photographer based in the USA. A year months ago, Tzen won the “The Colour Pink” monthly theme contest. Her image was selected from a pool of 30 Colour Pink street photography themed photographs!

Since January 2017 we have introduced new prizes for the winners of the Streethunters.net monthly theme contests. All prizes aim to give the winners massive exposure on our website and our social profiles. But what are those prizes?
