Street Hunt 22

Introduction

Dear  Streethunters.net Readers hello!

Today I am happy to present to you the new Street Hunt #22 video that we shot in Iraklio, Crete. I know you have all been eagerly awaiting a new street hunt video since we released the street hunt video of the 2nd Annual Street Hunters Meeting in London back in September. The reason it’s taken us so long to publish this new street hunt is because we managed to record a total of 16GB in video files during our day that needed processing and editing and synchronising with the hundreds of photos we shot. We had to go through every photo we each took, time stamp them by the second, and then splice them in with the footage! The amount of work required was massive and it took me several months to complete. I guess, if this was my full time job, I could have had it ready much sooner, but I worked on the video late at night after work, so that was the best I could do under the circumstances.

Dear Readers,

Today we are releasing the 3rd episode of our brand new Street Talk YouTube series, a vlog about Street Photography.

In this episode we talk about the camera modes in plain English. P mode, A mode, S mode and M mode. It is a video for the absolute beginner who is just getting to know how to use a camera. So, if you are an experienced or intermediate photographer, you might find this video to be a bit boring for you. However it isn’t a long video, running at 3 minutes and 28 seconds, so if you don’t have anything better to do, I recommend you give it a look and let me know what you think.

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

Welcome to the second episode of the new YouTube series we launched around a week ago, called “Street Talk”. Each time a new episode is released, I will also be writing a very short blog post just to give you a quick summary of what you are about to see.

So, in episode #02 I talk about “What gear do I recommend you have while on a local Street Hunt”.

Introduction

Dear Readers,

Last week I shared with my fellow Streethunters.net editors, Andrew Sweigart and Digby Fullam a new idea that I had. This idea is something that in my opinion will make the Streethunters.net YouTube channel a little bit more interesting and active. Both of them embraced the idea and since then I have been wanting to share it with all of you.

It is now one week later and believe it or not, I have only just found the time to properly sit down and write this announcement post for you all to read. I am currently at the Athens International Airport typing away on my laptop while waiting to board my flight back to Crete. I have been flying from location to location for work since early Tuesday morning, within Greece and further away. I have felt the bitter cold of the northern Balkans and flown in a propeller plane (something I am not used to doing), had food poisoning, met at least 20 new people and I did all these things wearing a suit 24/7. A crazy, uncomfortable 4 days!

Anyway, enough of my travels. Today is the announcement day, so let’s get on with it.

Street Hunt 21 - 2nd Annual Street Hunters Meeting in London

Introduction

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

On the 18th of August I was in the city of London, UK for the 2nd Annual Street Hunters Meeting that was sponsored by our friends at COSYSPEED. You can read more about how that turned out in our “Street Photography Workshop & 2nd Street Hunters Annual Meeting in London” post we published on September 7th. Pretty much every detail of the 2 day event has been documented in that post for you to read. We had a wonderful time! Today we will be focusing more on the video we recorded on the actual 2nd Annual Street Hunters Meeting day which was on the 19th of August.

The Day We Filmed The Street Hunt #21 In London

Thomas Ludwig the face of COSYSPEED and Xavier El Javo Buendia one of the Streethunter.net Readers and myself all stayed at the same hotel. So we arranged to have breakfast together that morning and then head out to meet the rest of the Street Hunters that would be joining.

Street Hunt 20 - Rethymno Carnival

Introduction

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

It has been a while since our last Street Hunt video release but the wait is now over. After a couple months of shooting, organising content and producing this video it is time for you all to enjoy it.

Today, we will take you on a tour of Rethymno city in Crete during the 2016 Carnival day. We start our video in the heart of the carnival parade and just let loose and go with the flow, following the fun around each corner until we reach a most unexpected finale. I say we, because this time the team is made of four street photographers. Digby Fullam editor of Streethunters.net, Dan Berntsson street photographer and good friend from Sweden, Anastasia Nazare street photographer and good friend from Greece and myself.

Street Hunt 19

Introduction

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

Today we present you with another Street Hunt video! It is the 2nd one in just one month and this time we shot in my home town of Rethymno. I am not alone in this Street Hunt either. I have the very interesting and talented Anastasia Nazare shooting alongside me. This is the first time she has shared her photos online, since she is a very private street photographer. She uses a Ricoh GR and at night she rocks the flash.

This video was shot during the night of Tsiknopempti. I have mentioned this night in the past, and I shot Tsiknopempti street hunt videos in 2014 and 2015. . The veteran Streethunters.net Readers might remember what this day is all about in Greece, but I would like to explain about this day for our newer Readers that might have not heard of this before.

Street Hunt 18

Introduction

One month ago, I met Yiannis Yiasaris in Thessaloniki, Greece. Thessaloniki is the largest city in the Northern part of the country, and is a beautiful place that is focused on Culture and the Arts. Yiannis is a Greek Street Photographer currently living in Melbourne, Australia. He enjoys shooting all over the world (Tokyo, London, Greece and more!). If you follow our groups and Facebook, Flickr or GooglePlus you probably have seen his work before. He is a great Street Photographer and a wonderful person. He showed me around town and I have to say, I had the time of my life!

Before I continue, I would like to point something out. In the video you will see, I keep on pronouncing Yiannis’ surname wrong. The intonation should be on the second “a” not the first “a” in “Yiasaris”.

So before I went to Thessaloniki, Yiannis and myself talked about filming a Street Hunt there. He liked the idea so that is what we did on the second day of my visit.

Street Hunt No17 - Street Photography in Rome, Italy

Introduction

2 weeks ago Digby and myself went to Rome to film a new Street Hunt video. Rome is a magical city, truly eternal and magnificent and I highly recommend you visit it to shoot in its streets. You can read more about our experience there in the Rome Street Hunt post we released when we got back from our trip. In that post I mentioned our days in Rome but left out the details of the actual Street Hunt day so I could give you all a thorough report today, on the day we posted the video on our YouTube channel.

Street Hunt No16 - Street Photography in Istanbul, Turkey

Introduction

3 weeks ago when I returned from this amazing Street Hunt in Istanbul I wrote a post in which I shared the experiences I had during my stay in that amazing city. I was in Istanbul for 5 days and each day was special for its own reasons. Even though I have shared nearly all experiences from that trip, I deliberately left out details about the actual Street Hunt day. I thought that it would be much better to include the details of the day we filmed the Street Hunt in this post.

This Street Hunt was Street Hunt number 16 and it was sponsored by our amazing friends at COSYSPEED. COSYSPEED has supported www.streethunters.net for the second time and we are ever grateful. Plans for future collaborations exist and will be announced in due time, so stay tuned for more exotic trips in the future! Thanks COSYSPEED.
