Jasmin Gendron Street Hunters Interview Cover

Introduction

2017 has been an incredibly bountiful year for the Street Hunters Monthly Theme Contests!  Roy Rozanski, Kristof Vande Velde, Christoph Wuzella, Sreejith Kaviyil, Zlatko Vickovic, Svilen Nachev and Constantinos Arvanitis have guided us through the first seven months, capturing the crown in challenging themes with their superb images. Each month provides us with a new challenge, too! As I’ve said before, each batch of submissions becomes harder to judge because of the bar constantly being raised by the previous winners and the ever-increasing quality of the work being submitted.

August brought the fourth episode of our five-month run on colors in the Monthly Theme Contests. The color blue theme in July gave us many cool photos to pore over, but in August the theme warmed up again with the color yellow. The competition heated up as well, with a slew of scrumptious submissions!

Yellow proved to be anything but mellow when it came to choosing a winner, and as always, competition was definitely stiff. When the dust finally settled, one shot stood above the rest? And the photographer responsible? That would be Jasmin Gendron!

Winner August 2017

Introduction

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

August 2017 is over. It is time to announce the winner of the August 2017 Street Photography Contest!

The theme of the contest was “The Colour Yellow” and we had asked you all to send in photos with examples of Yellow. You responded by sending in over 120 photographs! Thank you all for submitting your lovely work!

As per the rules of the contest, the 3 editors of the Streethunters.net website Andrew Sweigart, Digby Fullam and myself, chose one photo each. The next step was to select the very best one of the three and present it here to you.

So, the lucky winner of the August 2017 Street Photoghraphy Contest is Jasmin Gendron and this is his photograph.

August Nominees for the colour yellow

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

The eighth Monthly Theme Contest photos for 2017 have been submitted and we have made our choices. Please keep in mind that the process of choosing a photo from the August 2017 Street Photography Contest Submissions was quite hard!

But let’s take a look at all the photos that were submitted and accepted in this Monthly Theme Contest.

ATTENTION: This time round we had over 150 submissions! Many good photos had to stay out because we like keeping our list short at around 30 images. So photos that didn’t meet the Theme or the Editors criteria were not chosen to be in the shortlist. They have been disqualified or removed. If your pic isn’t in the shortlist, don’t get discouraged. Try again next month!

At this moment I would like to thank each and every participant for submitting their photograph. We have a great collection of photos with “The Colour Yellow” to show you! This time we had 30 valid submissions which can all be seen below.

The Colour Yellow

Hello Streethunters.net Readers!

As mentioned in previous post “Revealing the Monthly Theme Contest New Rules & Prizes for 2017“, this year we have made some changes to the Monthly Theme Contests. The new rules are also included in this post and will be included in each contest post from now on. For your convenience, here are the changes:

What’s changed and what hasn’t in a nutshell

  1. The calendar at the end of the year is being canceled.
  2. The way we select photos remains the same.
  3. The monthly themes are much harder. You will need to work hard.
  4. The prizes the winners receive have changed. Read more below.

Vote for

Introduction

Dear StreetHunters.net Readers!

The time has come for you to vote for the best “The Colour Yellow” Street Photograph!

Once more, we received lots of submissions! Thank you! Sorting them out and selecting the top 10 was a difficult feat! So many nice images, so many amazing photos. We had to decide which photos to add to the poll and which not, as we do every month. All the photos that were submitted are smashing! Thank you all for your participation!

Following the same method as previous months, we have uploaded the images for the Theme contest into a lightbox gallery and under each image we have placed a name (label) that works as a unique identifier. So, what you have to do is to write down or remember the unique identifier of the image you like the most and then vote for that image in the poll below.

As always, we haven’t got any names under the photos. The reason for that is to keep the voting as unbiased as possible.

Introduction

Dear StreetHunters.net Readers! It is time for the Monthly Theme Contest for September 2014! The Monthly Theme Contest is a fun activity that anyone can participate in! Every month we choose a Theme. What we ask is for you our StreetHunters.net Readers to participate by each sending to us a Street Photograph at streethunters.net@gmail.com based on that Monthly Theme. So for example if the theme is The Colour Red, then we would like you to each send a photo with a Red Colour moment. Your photo can be taken any time in history, we don’t mind, as long as it has been taken by you and nobody else. Once you send us your picture, we will decide which are the 5 or 6 or 10 best ones and we will post them on our website.
