August Theme Contest - Beach Photography

Hello Streethunters.net Readers!

As mentioned in previous post “Announcing the New Monthly Theme Contest Rules“, this year we have made some changes to the contests that we have every month. The new rules are also included in this post and will be included in each contest post from now on. For your convenience, here are the new rules:

New Rules

So, from now on, you will be asked to submit your photos, just as you always did but we will not select the TOP 10 and share them with you so you can vote for your favourite. What we will do is share ALL photos with you and we will then each pick a personal favourite photo. Then Andrew picks one, Digby picks one and I pick one. The 3 photos we select are presented as the month’s finalists and are announced sometime in the middle of each month. 10-15 days later, we announce the winning photo of the 3 finalists.

Cyclist riding over a Bridge in Hamburg

Introduction

Dear StreetHunters.net Readers,

This weekend I visited the city of Hamburg in Germany, to film a Street Hunt video sponsored by Cosyspeed, the company that produces the Camslinger camera bags that are a great companion for any Street Photographer. I stayed in Hamburg for 3 nights and during that time I was lucky enough to meet some very interesting and nice people, to walk the fabulous streets of Hamburg, to taste local food and drinks and to learn a few German words that helped me get around. My trip was full of Street Photography and walking, full of amazement at the architecture and the sheer size of the city and finally full of excitement about seeing new things! The only thing I thought I didn’t handle all too well was the cold. I know that many of you live in equally cold places, some in even colder ones, but being used to the moderate weather of Crete, I felt quite chilly. So, I kept moving, I kept going until by the end of my trip I had covered 22 solid hours of walking. Would I do it again? 100% yes!!! If I woke up in Hamburg tomorrow, I would be on the street for hours on end taking photographs of everything that interested me!

Announcing the winner of the Cosyspeed Camslinger Contest!

Introduction

What an exciting month that November has been! Not long ago Cosyspeed asked us to hold a special Street Photography contest for you the Street Hunters Readers, in order to celebrate a new CAMSLINGER release. The brand new CAMSLINGER 160 Street edition! We thank the guys at Cosyspeed for this smashing collaboration. We loved it!

What was the contest about

What we had asked you guys to do, in case you missed the contest post, was to try and replicate as best as possible the famous photo by Henri Cartier-Bresson known as the “Decisive Moment”! Then Cosyspeed would look through all the photos and would choose a winner! The winner would be the photo that looked closer to the original and would win the Cosyspeed CAMSLINGER 160 Street edition! Awesome!

Today is the day!

So the day has come for us to unveil the winning photo! Additionally we will share with you all the total 15 photographs that we received, along with the name of each Photographer. We thank you all for your participation and congratulations to the winner!
