Winner of November 2017 contest

Introduction

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

November 2017 is over. It is time to announce the winner of the November 2017 Street Photography Contest!

The theme of the contest was “Hatred” and we had asked you all to send in photos with examples of shadowplay. You responded by sending in loads of photographs! Thank you all for submitting your lovely work!

As per the rules of the contest, the 3 editors of the Streethunters.net website Andrew Sweigart, Digby Fullam and myself, chose one photo each. The next step was to select the very best one of the three and present it here to you.

So, the lucky winner of the November 2017 Street Photoghraphy Contest is Taylor Green and this is his photograph.

November Nominees for

Dear Streethunters.net Readers,

The eleventh Monthly Theme Contest photos for 2017 have been submitted and we have made our choices. Please keep in mind that the process of choosing a photo from the November 2017 Street Photography Contest Submissions was extremely hard!

But let’s take a look at all the photos that were submitted and accepted in this Monthly Theme Contest.

ATTENTION: This time round we had a lot of submissions that were out of subject! Maybe “Hatred” was too difficult an assignment. Anyway many good photos had to stay out because of this. So this time we have kept only 20 images. The photos that didn’t meet the Theme or the Editors criteria were not chosen to be in the shortlist. They have been disqualified or removed. If your pic isn’t in the shortlist, don’t get discouraged. Try again next month!

At this moment I would like to thank each and every participant for submitting their photograph. We have a great collection of photos with “Hatred” to show you! This time we had 20 valid submissions which can all be seen below.

Introduction

We have been blown away by the amount and quality of submissions to the Street Hunters Monthly Theme Contests, and each month has brought a new cavalcade of eye candy for us to behold. Roy Rozanski, Kristof Vande Velde, Christoph Wuzella, Sreejith Kaviyil, Zlatko Vickovic and Svilen Nachev have given us the cream of the crop through for the first six months, and they have clearly set the tone. With each month, the act of choosing becomes a more blissfully arduous task because of the standard set by the previous winners and the influx of quality work.

The calendar turned to July, the third episode in a five-month stretch where the Monthly Theme Contests will be focused on colors. As the weather started heating up, the theme got cool with color blue. But were the submissions to be cool as well?

Indeed they were! We were hit with a blast of blue, and once again, tough decisions had to be made. And once again, as we climbed into the ring to take blow after blow of blue, we knew the winner had to be more than just a snap with blue in it. Constantinos Arvanitis brought it all together with his winning shot, giving us his work that not only nailed the color, but also married it with impeccable timing and clever composition.
