Poll for the Monthly Theme Contest

Introduction

Dear StreetHunters.net Readers!

The time has come for you to vote for the best “Candid Portrait” Street Photograph!

Truly the number of submissions we received this time was overwhelming! Woah! Thank you all for your participation! Sorting out all the photos and selecting the top 10 was such a difficult feat! So many amazing captures, so many smashing photos. We had to decide which ones to add to the poll and which not, as we do every month. All the photos that were submitted are marvelous!

Thank you all for your participation!

Following the same method as previous months, we have uploaded the images for the Theme contest into a lightbox gallery and under each image we have placed a name (label) that works as a unique identifier. So, what you have to do is to write down or remember the unique identifier of the image you like the most and then vote for that image in the poll below.

As always, we haven’t got any names under the photos. The reason for this is to keep the voting as unbiased as possible.

Monthly Theme Contest

Introduction

Dear StreetHunters.net Readers!

It is time for the Monthly Theme Contest for October 2014! The Monthly Theme Contest is a fun activity that anyone can participate in! Every month we choose a Theme. What we ask is for you our StreetHunters.net Readers to participate by each sending to us a Street Photograph at streethunters.net@gmail.com based on that Monthly Theme. So for example if the theme is Puddles, then we would like you to each send a photo with a Puddle moment. Your photo can be taken any time in history, we don’t mind, as long as it has been taken by you and nobody else. Once you send us your picture, we will decide which are the 5 or 6 or 10 best ones and we will post them on our website.

Posed Street Portraits vs Candid Street Portraits in Street Photography

Introduction

When out on the streets, a Street Photographer can shoot anything from random scenes to portraits. Every type of shot has its level of interestingness. In this post we will talk about the later, portraits.

Specifically we will get to know the two basic types of portraiture that can be shot on the street and once we have done that we will take a look at the differences between them. At the end of the post, I thought that it would be great if I shared some tips on how to snap awesome portrait shots. I think the average street photographer will find them helpful.
