Press Release: PhoS Athens
We here at Street Hunters are pleased to announce that we will be participating in PhoS in Athens, the first and only free street photography colloquium in Greece, made by you for you, talented street photographers!
Over the course of three days from 10th-12th November 2017, PhoS will feature workshops, talks, portfolio reviews, walks, contests, exhibitions and more, and all of these will be free of charge! The festival in Athens will feature the best from both Greek and international street photography, all over the course of one weekend. We here at Street Hunters are proud to be participating with the other event organizers: the online magazine iFocus, BULB photo collective and SCP (Street Core Photography) community.
There will be two contests, Singles (10 unrelated images) and Series (10 related images). The deadline for submissions will be September 30, 2017. At the moment, there is a great group of judges lined up. Chris Suspect, Dora Lavazou, Raul Touzon, Dani Oshi, Michail Moscholios, Andreas Neophytou, Alex Coghe, Gina Maragoudaki, Martin U. Waltz, Zisis Kardianos, Wojtek Kogut and us… Spyros Papaspyropoulos, Digby Fullam and Andrew Sweigart from Street Hunters! In each contest, the first prize will be a personal exhibition and exclusive interview. The Second place finisher will have a Virtual Gallery on all partner sites. And the Public Prize will be a mention on the partner sites.

The workshops will be hosted by an equally great panel. Names include Spiros Soueref, Vassilis Gerontakos, Martin U. Waltz, Costas Masseras, Ioanna Georgopoulou and Angelos Mihas. The talks will be hosted by Spyros Papaspyropoulos, on flash photography, Michail Moscholios on The Anti Manual and Zisis Kardianos on self publishing.
The photo walks will feature two of the judges/lecturers teaming up to take participants out on the streets of Athens. Day 1 will see Michail Moscholios and Martin U Waltz teaming up. Day 2 will have Dora Lavazou and Zisis Kardianos and Day 3 will pair Spyros Papaspyropoulos and Lavazou.
What’s most special about PhoS is that YOU can partake in the festival as a Judge or Lecturer! Deadline for application for these spots is August 30, 2017. More information can be found at www.phosathens.info/submissions. Also, you can have your work reviewed in a one-on-one session!
