The Cyprus Photographic Society, Pafos Branch is bringing back their contest, The Wall, as part of the Months Of Photography Paphos program. And, once again, the winning submissions will be featured in the center of Paphos, a 2017 European Capital of Culture!
The goal of The Wall is to exhibit large pictures in an outdoor public space. This is realized by the showing of 30 winning images on a wall in the city center at an eye-catching 53cm x 80cm each! The photos will be printed and installed for outdoor exposure and remain on exhibit for six months. Deadline for submission is May 2. Complete rules and guidelines can be found at www.cpspafos.com . Photographers from Cyprus and abroad are encouraged to submit.
The theme of the contest is URBAN, and participants can submit up to four colour photographs, and the cost of participation in the competition is set at 10 euros. The submitted photos will be judged by a 3-member committee of highly talented photographers. The judges are: Dimitris Makrygiannakis of BURN MY EYE collective, Fadi BouKaram from OBSERVE collective and Raluca Furtuna of BULBphotos collective.
The results will be announced in the official website of the CPS-Pafos Branch , in the Official website of the CPS and in social media. Also, an email with the results will be send to all participants. The opening of the installation/exhibition will be held on May 22, 2017. On the day of the event there will be a performance with live music and free drinks.
This is a great opportunity to have work exhibited for an extended period, with accessibility for all people in a beautiful European Capital of Culture! Take advantage of it!
