July Monthly Theme Contest 2016 submissions
Dear Streethunters.net Readers,
The seventh Monthly Theme Contest photos have been submitted and we took a good look at them all and finally made our choices. Please keep in mind that the process of selecting a photo is very difficult and challenging owing to the high standard of the photos entered!
First of all let’s take a look at all the photos that were submitted and accepted in this Monthly Theme Contest.
ATTENTION: Photos that didn’t meet the Theme criteria have been disqualified by the editors. Please make sure to read the requirements carefully before submitting an image
At this moment I would like to thank each and every participant for submitting their photograph. We have a great collection of photos with “Eccentrics” to show you! This time we had 6 valid submissions which can all be seen here:
*All images that were not sent in at the correct size, have been resized. This might affect the quality of entries that were sent in very small sizes.
The nominees
Every month each one of us Streethunters.net editors picks one photo as a nominee. Here are the photos we chose and the reasons why:
Andrew Sweigart
“Although “punk” isn’t as visually shocking as it used to be, it’s still on the fringe. Especially this dude. He’s all in. Leather, studs and, obviously, that hair. The flash capture is spot on… perfect! The colors, the blur… righteous indeed. What seals the deal is the “shocked” gesture made by the toddler he’s holding. Maybe the toddler is genuinely shocked, maybe not. Either way it cements the eccentricity value of the adult holding them.”

Digby Fullam
“One of the great things about ‘eccentrics’ is seeing them in normal scenarios – which is why I chose this photo! The Flash here is taking a cigarette break crouched on a wall. I like how his cowl is missing (he’s taking 5 after all), and the way he’s got a phone clamped to his ear and the stub of a ciggy. Plus his white Pumas poke out from underneath his costume, giving us another nice juxtaposition of normality. What really makes the shot though is the presence of the other people – going about their business seemingly unaware of a superhero in their midst. Very surreal, and fantastic!”

Spyros Papaspyropoulos
“This time round we had many photos that didn’t make the cut. I suppose the subject was a difficult one so there were not many photos to choose from in the end. However this photograph fit the brief exactly as the eccentricity of the main character is clearly visible. Dressed in what appears to be punk rock clothing and with hair to match the garb, the photographer has captured a rocker daddy and his kid wearing the most amazing expression of surprise in a moment that clearly “stands out” as eccentric scene!”

Stay tuned to find out who will win the Contest and the Camslinger 160 Street Edition!
So there you have it Streethuntes.net Readers. We have made our choices and now we have to debate which one is the best out of the 3. Within the next couple of days we will reveal this month’s winner of the contest and the COSYSPEED Camslinger 160 Street Edition, so stay tuned!
