June Monthly Theme Contest 2016 submissions
Dear Streethunters.net Readers,
The sixth Monthly Theme Contest photos have been submitted and we took a good look at them all and finally made our choices. Please keep in mind that the process of selecting a photo is very difficult and challenging owing to the high standard of the photos entered!
First of all let’s take a look at all the photos that were submitted and accepted in this Monthly Theme Contest.
ATTENTION: Photos that didn’t meet the Theme criteria have been disqualified by the editors.
At this moment I would like to thank each and every participant for submitting their photograph. We have a great collection of photos with “Neck Ties” to show you! This time we had 9 valid submissions which can all be seen here:
*All images that were not sent in at the correct size, have been resized. This might affect the quality of entries that were sent in very small sizes.
The nominees
Every month each one of us Streethunters.net editors picks one photo as a nominee. Here are the photos we chose and the reasons why:
Andrew Sweigart
“NO doubt about it, the Bart Simpson tie is the star of this show. The vibrant color makes it pop out from the screen, but the folded arms of the wearer mimicking the animated star’s own makes it a winner. A fun shot that delivers on the assignment with colorful gusto!”

Digby Fullam
“This photo fulfils a challenging brief excellently. What it lacks in spontaneity it more than makes up for in humour and style. Bart Simpson (and the tie itself) IS the subject matter of the photo! I love the stark simplicity of the composition of this shot and the way it forces you to look deeper into the photo to spot its little hidden surprises. The rough concrete grain of the wall and the pinstriped shirt. The just visible vest and watch. But most of all the way the man’s folded arms mirror those of Bart. Excellent!”

Spyros Papaspyropoulos
“It was a very difficult choice for me and I couldn’t make up my mind easily this time, but this is the photo I finally chose. What attracted me to this capture was the combination of the necktie (of course), the colour and style of the man’s suit and the fact that he has his tongue sticking out on the side, as if he is looking at something tasty. The entire image, together with the busy background of the image which is obviously a market, just makes me wonder what is the story of this man and what is he looking at with such an “appetite”? Is it food, is it candy? Is it something else? I wish I knew. Good job!”

Stay tuned to find out who will win the Contest and the Camslinger 105 Street Edition!
So there you have it Streethuntes.net Readers. We have made our choices and now we have to debate which one is the best out of the 3. Within the next couple of days we will reveal this month’s winner of the contest and the COSYSPEED Camslinger 105 Street Edition, so stay tuned!
Hi, I’m surprised about Spyros’ choice because the theme was “just the part of the neck and torso where the tie can be seen” – so I thought no part of the face was allowed and discarded my photos that showed any part of the face.
You should always send in your photos Kitty. The editorial team will decide if it is valid or not. Hope to see your work submitted in next month’s contest!
