Street Photo of the week by Stuart Paton
Street Photo of the week by Stuart Paton
This week we are featuring a photograph by Street Photographer Stuart Paton. Stuart Paton is originally from Scotland, UK. These days he shoots and lives in France.
Stuart has been interested in photography since he was a child. His dad used to have a dark room under the stairs in their home. Once Stuart had an understanding of photography, developing and printing he started using that darkroom to print his own photos. His father was his inspiration and the person who stimulated his interest in the art of image making, as well as the influential work of war photographer Don McCullin.
Stuart’s work came to our attention through our ever growing Flickr Group. We feel very lucky that we have such a vast library of amazing photos at our fingertips.

Before I write about a featured street photo I go through tens if not hundreds of captures by many amazing street photographers. I know when I have found the photo I am looking for when I stop and look at a particular photo for longer that I look at the rest. I know I have found my photo pick when I keep on coming back to it over and over again. When I was hunting for the shot of the week in our Flickr Group and I saw this photograph by Stuart Paton I knew I had to look no further. The colours in combination with the silhouette, the lines, the reflections, everything about this shot makes me want to just look at this photograph and enjoy it. It reminds me of a surreal work of art, something that has been born in the mind of a painter. What a great photograph!
Thanks Stuart Paton!
