So, our young Spyros is coming to do a street hunt in good ol’ Londontown on the 6th of June. The subject of his hunt will be ‘Flash photography on the Street’ and we are expecting a few to tag along for the show. We have planned a circuit of the West End, The City and The South Bank. This will not be the longest trek, but as anyone who knows this town will know that there is loads to take in.

The plan is to meet at Waterloo station for 9am 6th of June, split into 2 groups, each taking one half of the circuit, meeting for a pit-stop around Aldwych for 1pm, and each group continuing to meet up at Waterloo station again to conclude the walk-about (I’m thinking around 6pm) We all know how quick a walk can go…
As the main aim of the day (for Spyros) is to produce another great video, I thought it might be interesting for the remainder of the group to have a few challenges (just for some fun of course – no prizes for this one – ok, maybe some bragging rights). Below is a list of topics that might tickle your interest, push you out of your comfort zone, and maybe open up something new to you. As mentioned, this is certainly no competition, but it could be interesting to have a certain plan.
As it will be quite a long day, I for one will be giving this a shot.
I have split the ‘hunt’ into 2 categories :
- Focusing on Details
- Urban Landscape
- The Decisive Moment
- Graphic Elements
My Point of VIEW
- Street Portraits (with permission)
- Street Portraits (without permission)
- Reflections/Self Portraits
- Shoot with Flash
- Shoot from the Hip
- Commonly found Objects
- Part of the Body
What do you think? Take on a few of these challenges, take them all on, but it will certainly be fun. So, with a show of hands 😉 or a note in the comments section, it would be interesting to know what you guys who are joining the walk-about think of the idea. Any suggestions to make the meet-up more interactive, and any other thoughts would be welcome.
Hope to see loads of you on the 6th of June.
